The 2009-2010 Old School Season By IP is getting ready to fire up! Bring your favorite car from the past to complete in the most exciting racing on 8 of the best tracks from the past. Tracks like Darlington, Bristol, Charlotte, and Martinsville. 8 events held over the next 8 weeks.




Run for the Trophy points racing. Season champion will recive a 1st place trophy. Sponsored By Premium Racing Online.
Race all 8 or race 6 events to run for the championship. Points from your best 6 races will count for the end of the season championship.

7 events will be 50% in length 1 event will be 100%. Prepare each week in our 24/7 practice server leading up to the weeks event. Build your own setup from our base set pack, to run in the open setup races.

Starting Saturday the 19 at 6:00 pm E the server will open for final testing at Chicago. Qualifying will start at 7:45 PM E. with a 10 minute Happy hour at which time we will reset the server and password it if need be. We can reopen the server and re-stack the field to the qualifying order. This maybe needed to clean up the server from any warp.

The field is open to as many as we can get in up to 40. With the reset of the server and all that we have learned I believe 38 cars will run with no warp at all. Possibly 40. This may need to be bi weekly 'till we get a final verdict of which is the absolute max.

Basic server setting:
50% at all but 1 which will be 100% finale.
Tire wear= Normal
Fuel= 2 x at the 50% Normal in the 100% race
Damage= 50%
Time of day will be track default. look at the schedule for time details.
Setups= Open
Points will be same as NASCAR runs. With the best of 6 being the final standings.

The Final race will be 100% and will count for the season. This race will be a special race with the starting order determined by the points standings inverted. This race could make you or brake you. Come prepared!

There will be a competition caution. This will fall on lap 15 in the 50% races and at lap 30 in the 100% race. The caution will fall even if there is a yellow before lap 15 or 30. If the yellow flies and lap 15 is reached while under yellow no competition caution will fall.
Yellows and Black flags are on. The Yellows have been tweaked on the server to come out when there is a multi car accident or if the car wrecking does not get going after a set amount of time.Quick Escape is off during the Race and the Race only. During practice you can still hit esc and get off with out coming to a stop. With that said it is highly encouraged that cars coming up to a wreck slow and avoid the wreck. Don't ever assume they will esc.

The Quick Escape is off during race. During the race if you want out of your car you must come to a stop. Please do this as safe as you can.
    If you come up on a wreck slow to avoid the wreck!
Points penalties can be enforced for wreckless driving during a incedent on the track. Remember Slow to avoid the wreck.

Lets get pumped up guys this series looks to be as good as it gets. There has been 60 drivers in the IP server with the current Track pack. This has been since the Nov 15 release of the latest Track Pack. I know there is more with the Pack and will be more by the 19 of December. Lets ALL promote this and fill the stands as we move forward in the best we have ever had in online Sim racing.

The Old School Server will be up By tonight and will be set for the first 3 races in the Loop so you can advance as they are in order of the schedule.

Ok I did update the top left block on the main page with (xp) quicklaunch shortcuts to both servers as well as those servers IP's in the block.

We will be running a mock run Saturday on the OLD SCHOOL Serve as a test for the following weeks start to the Old School Season.

Run the CFM, we have about 20 or so fresh old school schemes available for your enjoyment... download them and run what you want...

By the way, it was discussed on ts today as to whether we're running the quick escape or not. The vote was overwhelmingly towards the Old School way of doing things. Perhaps two to three days before each race the server can be set for no quick escape so those who are new to it can adjust and plan strategies to avoid wrecks.

I think this is going to be alot of fun, nobody can bitch anymore about the other guy not escaping quick enough.

i like the no quick escape idea, just for that very reason...cant bitch now

My feeling is that if we are going to turn off quick escape we should just turn it off completely where we have to stop completely before escaping....but last night was fun!

I agree Whiskey I want it off Also. Last night was a strange night for the server. I went in and checked to see hy it didnt work. For some reason the server was hung. I must be missing some thing cause I cant find where to have it that the car must be stopped. Any help would be great in finding that setting.

Great turnout last night guys!   I was hoping for 20, but 17 is close enough, and can't complain since the season doesnt start till next week.

Now starting next week, since this is an OLD SCHOOL LEAGUE we DO NOT MANDATE but HIGHLY RECOMEND that you run an old school paint scheme.

There are plenty of extra's we just added this week in the CFM. We understand for those who do not have the cfm and may have trouble downloading, because all are welcome. We want as many to come out and race as possible. But there is little excuse (especially if you are a Team Member of PRO) if you do have the CFM.

There is an additional thread I made for people to reserve what car they want. Everything is done on a 1st come 1st serve basis.

Ahh   Ok cool. Just my new job has me workin on Saturday(overtime) and have to be to work at 5 am so need to get up at 3. My old ass needed a nap when I got home.

The only issue we are going to run into is for those who lose connection as i did last night. With 12 or so laps to go my computer decided it was time to rest, so it did, if the old school escape was in action i may have wandered down the track until either hitting an obsticle or another car.

More than likely not a big deal but another scenario to consider when racing in the future and somebody begins driving erratically.

Car must now be stopped to ESC. This will remain in effect on this server at all times. Practice and plan what you need to do to make this work.

The Old School Admin will be talking about this and how we will penalize drivers for deserving issues.

Congrats to Josh Gudorf on the season opener win!! He kept his car clean and fenders on the whole race, and took a great win! WTG Josh.

That was one of the best asphault races I think I have ever had in any sim!! and not because I squeeked out a second blocking Josh Linville like crazy for 2 laps..... regardless of where I would have finished, and there for a while towards the end, where everyone started really running, it looked like I might not do any better than 8th or so.....there was just so much tight clean side by side and 3 wide racing, a bit of door rubbing but not wrecking... it was really one of the best races I have been in...my thanks to everyone in the race, you guys were just awesome!!!!
